Angelica

Angelica Panganiban was born in the Philippines and is now an Filipino American actress and comedian as well as host on television and model. Panganiban is dubbed the "new queen of Drama" by many media publications. Her name is also acknowledged as being among the Philippines' most experienced and diverse actors. She finished the competition as second, making her the youngest runner-up in the show's history. In 2012 when Angelica Hale was just 4 years old, she was very sick with a double pneumonia attributed to a severe strep pneumonia bacterial infection. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston put her on ECMO care for life-saving treatment. The patient was suffering from multiple organ dysfunction, including the failure of her kidneys. The new norm was the peritoneal, and later hemodialysis. Over the course of the 80 days she spent in hospital, her life was changed forever. After one year and a half of dialysis Angelica was ready to undergo the largest surgery she had ever undergone- her kidney transplant. The donor kidney would come from none other than her mother. Angelica together with her mother, went through successful kidney transplantation on September 13th 2013 in two amazing hospitals that were close to each other: Emory University Hospital & Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale, a young teenager from Atlanta, who always dreamed of becoming an actress and singer she is still working toward this dream.
