Mena Alexa Suvari, born 1979. She is an American fashion designer, model and actress. Shortly after beginning her career as a model, she began acting in guest roles on 1990's programs on television like Boy Meets World and High Incident. The film debut came in 1997's dramatic Nowhere. The actress made her way to big roles through her appearances in American Beauty for which she received nominations for the BAFTA Award and American Pie and American Pie, both of which gained the attention of the world. Since then she appeared in Loser (2000) along with the American Pie co-star Jason Biggs as well as later portrayed the lead character in the comedy Sugar & Spice (2001). Spun And Trauma the thriller movie from 2004 featured two of her performances. She also appeared in the HBO's drama series Six Feet Under in 2004 she was nominated as the Outstanding Cast in the 2005 Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008, she was cast in a string of films such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh as well as the film adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari is a model for Lancome cosmetics and also print advertisements for Lancome Paris Adaptive and has been featured in a variety of fashion magazines as well as blogs including Vogue. She's been an advocate for and champion for the African Medical and Research Foundation. She also is active on women's empowerment issues and is associated with groups that support breast cancer awareness and an End Violence Against Women Campaign. Missy did an excellent job in them all, being an actress of the caliber she is. Missy has a huge heart. When she is not working, she prefers to participate in charitable initiatives. The organization she is a part of is a non- political body committed to making affordable safe foot-wear for societies inside South America.
